Miao got his bachelor degree from Peking university school of life sciences. During 2012 to 2018, he did his graduate research in Dr. Yulong Li’s lab at Peking university, where he was involved in the development and application of novel genetically-encoded fluorescent neurotransmitter sensors. Started from 2019, he joined Chinese Institute for Brain Research (CIBR) as an independent research fellow and was promoted as a principal investigator at 2022.
